12 Tenöre, 22 Welthits, eine Show - THE 12 TENORS on tour Julian Dionne

Julian Dionne

Julian was born in Bologna and grew up in the Italian province of South Tyrol. As a child Julian was fascinated by the voice of "the big man" (Luciano Pavarotti), whose rendition of "New York, New York" was the first melody to find a place in his heart. He soon began singing in choirs and at the age of 16 started his first singing lessons at the Wiener Musikseminar music school in Vienna. At the age of 18 he was given his first role as Aenea in the opera DIDO AND AENEA. As well as making various concert appearances, Julian began to study singing at the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory and culture management at the Luigi Bocconi Business University in Milan. In addition to his studies and trips to the opera, he played numerous roles in plays and films and was able to gain his first experiences in musicals. He played Jesus in Andrew Lloyd Webber's JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR and Alfredo in Giuseppe Verdi´s LA TRAVIATA. Inspired by meeting his idols Placido Domingo, Luciana Serra and Andrea Bocelli, his passion for music and singing gained an unstoppable momentum: with passion, Julian immersed himself in the magical world of the Mediterranean romances from Sicily, Naples and Andalusia! Through his close relationship with his Viennese grandmother Elisa he learned to love and to sing the melodies of Lehar and Strauss with all his heart. His passion for singing finally took him to Paris, where he discovered the world of French chanson. On his adventurous trips through America, India and Australia Julian also began to write his own songs and to combine his passion for classical and pop in one heart and one voice. Julian himself says: "Music and life are one. I associate every song that I sing with a place, a face and a story that are close to me: all this and the hope that I can bring joy to and touch someone in the audience with my voice fills me with immense happiness and makes singing an absolute pleasure.“
